5 Winter 2023 Makeup Trends

The best and worst thing about makeup is that it’s ever-changing. For those who love keeping up with the latest trends, we’ve compiled a list of 5 winter 2023 makeup trends that you don’t want to miss.

Goth Girl

Who would’ve thought we’d see a resurgence of the goth girl makeup in 2023? Well, we have none other than Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams. Ortega is the latest It girl and the Netflix show, all about the beloved character, has put everyone in the mood to channel their gloomier side with darker makeup; smoky plums, burgundy, smoked out black shadow and all!

‘90s Nudes

This winter is also all about bringing back the golden age of supermodels – the ‘90s. In 2023, we’re going to see a lot more of the sculpted looks with ‘90s nudes in cool shades like mauve, gray, taupe and charcoal. We’ll all be channeling our inner supermodel this season!

Sad Liner

Winter 2023 is also all about embracing the winter blues and reflecting that onto our makeup looks. You can kiss lifted eyes and winged liners goodbye for a while with the sad liner look being all the rage right now. The downturned liner is all over TikTok and social media right now, with some of our favorite Gen Z influencers putting on their “crying makeup”. Finally, a makeup look that reflects how we feel on the inside!

Lip Liners Galore

The ‘90s nudes isn’t the only ‘90s trend making a comeback this season. Another trend we’re seeing a lot more of this winter is the use of lip liners. Lip liners kind of took a seat on the bench for a while and we’re so happy to see them making a resurgence stronger than ever. There’s so much that we can do with lip liners, from defining the outline of the lips to creating crisp edges to even filling in the whole lip, the possibilities are endless. You can also pair lip liners with a frosty lipstick or even lip balms.

Vampire Skin

We told you gothic is the new black. The vampire skin trend is by far the most daring this winter, with glitter and shimmer all over. While we’re used to shimmering on the high points of the face, we’re not quite used to shimmer all over the face. This trend can be looked at as a “reverse highlighting”, you’re applying glow all over your face, but mattifying specific spots. We told you it was daring…
