Makeup Removal: 3 Different Ways

It’s been a long day, you’re ready for bed but you’ve still got one very important step left- removing your makeup. Sure, you’ve skipped this step one or two times but it’s okay, we get it. Despite how lazy we get, we all know the necessity of makeup removal and how vital it is for our skin’s health. Not just that, knowing which method works best for your complexion is crucial to keeping your skin in the best condition possible. We’ve listed 3 different ways to remove makeup, keep reading to find out which one would suit you best.

  • Double cleanse

A good cleansing oil is always a good idea. Start by massaging the oil cleanser onto your face and gently rubbing the makeup off. We recommend using a warm face cloth. Rinse your face and repeat until you are makeup free. We love the Noon, Makeup Remover. This all-natural jojoba oil and vitamin E cleanser will leave your skin super soft and glowing.

We generally like to follow that by washing our face with a cleanser. We recommend the Neuth France, Purifying Cleansing System Gel. A soap-free refreshing formula, this cleanser will remove all remaining impurities while maintaining hydration, leaving your pores clog-free and your skin completely clean.

  • Micellar water, then cleanse

Some of our colleagues at the Source Beauty office swear by this method of makeup removal. Using micellar water for sensitive skin, apply it on a cotton pad or reusable pad and swipe on your face till all makeup is removed. Try the Nivea, MicellAIR Skin Breathe Micellar Water (Dry to Sensitive Skin), a gentle yet effective formula that can be used on your face, eyes and lips. Follow that by washing your face with your cleanser of choice. The Kolagra, Vitamin C Facial Cleanser is a great option and will work to improve the appearance of your skin by giving you a smoother, healthier appearance and targeting dark spots.

  • Reusable Makeup Remover Rounds

Join the positive trend of environmentally friendly products and swap your disposable face wipes for non-toxic reusable makeup remover rounds. You can re-use the Zoe Amber Cosmetics, Reusable Makeup Remover Pads for up to 200 times. The beautiful package comes with 16 reusable cotton pads made from 70% bamboo and 30% cotton. Use them with your makeup remover, your toner or even your cleanser to softly wipe away any makeup and extra excess dirt.
